Today is the day for our early-out after school program…including a magic show with Rick Eugene!  All children in grades K-4  are welcome to attend this free program, 1-3 pm.  See our website for details and schedule at www.parkersburg.lib.ia.us.

Coming soon:   The 2017 Iowa Honey Queen, Carly Vannoy, will join us on Friday, Oct. 6 at 1:30 pm.  Come learn about honey bees, honey, and beekeeping at this interactive, informative and free program.  You will learn about how bees make mummies, the color of mystery honey, the strange use of beehives in medieval times, and much, much more! 

Reminder:  There are still some spots available for the antiques appraisal event with Mark Moran on Monday, Oct. 16 from 5:30-8:30 pm.  Pre-registration is required in order to have your free, informal appraisal.  Call the library to reserve your spot!  House calls are available for items too large or fragile to transport.  $75/hour, no mileage fee if within 10 miles of Parkersburg. The Brown Bag Book Club book selection is Waiting to Begin, by Patricia O’Donnell.  The date for this book discussion is Monday, Oct. 9. 

Save the Date!  Guest Author/Speaker/Wrestling Expert Mike Chapman will be at the library on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 11:00 am.  More details next week….we hope you can join us!
