Thanks to all who attended the book talk and book signing event held last week with author Scott Cawelti!  It’s hard to believe it is the 40th anniversary of the horrible event that he covered in his book, Brother’s Blood: a Heartland Cain and Abel.  Also a big thank you to Mr. Cawelti for the insightful information on challenges in writing this book.

Coming up next is author Lawn Griffiths, who will be joining us on Oct. 5, at 7 pm for a book talk and signing event of his new book, Batting Rocks Over the Barn. His book was selected for the Brown Bag Book Club book of the month.  All are welcome!

Another guest speaker and author, Joyce Knock, will be joining us on Oct. 7, from 1:30-3 pm during our W.O.W. early-out after school program.  Ms. Knock will read to the children her book, I am NOT Dumb and I am Not a Stinky Butt, which addresses the subject of bullying.  Because we are having a special guest for the program, all are welcomed to attend, but a friendly reminder: children in preschool or younger are required to have an adult present with them. Thanks!
